Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone can help with this little problem. This morning trying to make a coffee the brew temperature was up to 130° c. I didn’t notice this until I tried to pour shot and the water coming from the brew head was completely cold. I took the top off, the switch is not raised I tried pressing it on the brew boiler, the boiler is cold. All the pipes to and from are cold, but the steam boiler temperature steam and water is fine from the steam boiler … any ideas ??? Thanks in advance Russ

@"WorldsPantry"#p68044 My assumption would be a failure of the temperature probe. If it was disconnected in some way you would get an alarm, so it's most likely misreading. This is based on the information you gave, although it might not be the problem.. **The most important piece of information, is the thing you have not mentioned..when you switch it on from cold what does it read and what happens over the next 3 minutes?** Tell us the above and I "might" have some more tests for you. It would be great if you could also tell us the year of manufacture, or how old the machine is.

@"DavecUK"#p68046 hi Dave thanks for getting back to me so quick it’s a 2019 machine. I can take any relevant pictures you need that may help. I haven’t switched it on again. I’ve moved it to the workbench so I will fire it up in a minute and record the information needed many thanks.

@"DavecUK"#p68046 okay the machine is completely cool. I switched it on and immediately it’s reading 92°c Temp within one minute. It’s up to 110° within three minutes. Replace the brew boiler temperature sensor, follow the wire from the sensor for about 15 om and you will find a black connector, undo this, then remove sensor from boiler, clean thread and put in a new one with PTFE.

DavecUK thanks dave .. up until yesterday everything was perfect so I’ll just go with the sensor … I’ll obviously let you know how it goes thankyou so.. in the meantime had to pull the rancillio silvia out of retirement … perfect cup of coffee .. she never lets me down 😂😂

DavecUK just to be on the safe side I’m assuming you mean this sensor actually got quite a long cable on it probably about 40 cm or more plugged into the main circuit board

Theres two cables, on the control board and one on the sensor…with a push together joint in the middle.

DavecUK hi Dave I’ve just checked the cables and there are only white ones connected to the main controller. They are about 60 cm long no connections in them one coming from the brew boiler to the control panel and one coming from the steam boiler going to the main control panel, all coiled up inside the machine as you can see from the photos is this gonna cause me a problem if I get that little short one?

It will cause you a lot of trouble if you don’t find the connector, it is there.

Okay I’m assuming I’m looking at the right leads on the brew boiler. There is a brass nut with two small white wires coming out of it. I’m assuming this is the sensor you’re talking about. I have undone the thing completely and it is 60 cm long no connections and it is connected straight into the board. I have disconnected it from the board to measure its length. ???

DavecUK any ideas ?? Should I contact acs … no idea who there supplier is in the UK or where to purchase their parts. I’ve had a quick look on the Internet but don’t seem to be having any luck… sorry to be a nuisance. Really appreciate all the help you’ve given so far.👍🏼👍🏼

WorldsPantry I know for a fact all the sensors ACS use have a fairly short lead with a connector…you could ask them to measure to see if it will reach…and any espresso parts supplier should measure their sensor lead length for you.

After which you can cut a piece of string to check if it can reach.
