*Edit* Despite the title this unit is just a PL62 not the T. It doesn’t have a PID
Evening All
The decision is made and I’m on my way to a new Machine, A Vesuvius, Evo or Bianca, with a consideration along the way to a Decent is probably where I’m heading. However I have an intermittent issue with my current Lelit Mara PL62, which I would like to get to the bottom of, as I would like to offer the machine forsale and wouldn’t be happy doing so with this issue.
It is notable that the issue has been present since certainly within the first couple of months of ownership and that it is a completely intermittent and random issue, which can happen 3 times in the same hour or go 3 weeks without doing it. The unit could have been on for 5 hours or it can do it 20 min after turn on.
The first symptom is I hear the boiler bubbling, shortly followed by the OPV opening then shortly after that the pump kicks in, even though the group is closed. Here is a video of it happening.
If you leave the machine alone it will return to normal after a few minutes, but if you open the leaver it sometimes stops as does it sometimes when you open the steam or Hot water.
It’s not really an issue for me as I’ve got used to it, but it shouldn’t do it, it’s not ideal and I’m not happy selling it in this condition.
It has one advantage though as if you catch it right the extra pressure gives some perfect microfoam.
I know that I’m going to need to spend something on it but an idea of what to try first would be perfect.
I have contacted Bella Barista a few times but they have not come up with anything.
Thanks for any pointers
