Hi all, I have just joined the forum, having followed DaveC YouTube reviews for some considerable time. My Lelit Bianca, which I bought in 2020, has developed an annoying issue, which is that when the brew lever is in the “idle” position, the pump will quite often switch on as if the lever has been moved into the “brew” position. This seems to be triggered by vibration, such as when water is pumped from the reservoir to the boiler or putting the portafilter into the group head.
This doesn’t happen every time I use the machine but often enough that if I want to leave the machine on, I have to put the brew lever into the exhaust position to avoid the risk the pump will trigger, and I come back to a flooding drip tray.
My initial thought is that somehow the spring loaded cam follower has come closer to the cam than it should be. Given that I haven’t ever opened up the machine, this seems odd that it should have moved closer to the cam follower than previously. I did service the group a month or so ago with the service kit from Bella Barista, which included replacing the brass cam within the group head and so was wondering if the spindle is very slightly off straight, but again this seems unlikely as all the parts went back together easily and seem aligned.
Has anyone come across this issue before and if so, how did you solve it? Many thanks in advance
