les24preludes I’ll do my best, but I’m not confident about all that sort of stuff, I just know what I like.
In my house, we drink exclusively pourover these days, and always with soya milk (which originally started because it’s zero carb, so was good for keto dieting). Usually V60/Switch in 800ml batches, but also Orea or Pulsar brewers. My wife very much doesn’t like the whole fruity thing, and wants the more chocolatey flavours. Both North Star offerings are to her taste. I think we both prefer the Brazilian, which is the cheaper one.
For me, sometimes I find the pursuit of the chocolatey coffees sometimes leads us to stuff that tastes too roastey or something, too burned or bitter or something, so I tend to prefer a little more on the fruity side, but not too much. I’m more Kenyan than Ethiopian usually. The North Star roasts seem to be perfect because there’s none of the flavours I don’t like, just good coffee-tasting coffee with a chocolatey taste.
These are the first two bags I’ve had from North Star since going decaf-only last year. I’ve always though they roasted well.
I’ve got some Rave decaf, and a couple of Rounton decafs on the go at the moment too, but the North Star are the favourite over all of those.
The Foundry decaf has become our “favourite”, but I don’t want to drink it all the time. Decadent decaf has been great, and I’ve had some nice ones from Danelaw too.
Oh, and I love Chopin.
Hope this helps you in some way.
