@"dfk41"#p73250 I’m a musician (mainly just as hobby these days) and it’s a ‘sample library’. Basically an orchestra (or any instrument) is recorded in solos and ensembles, and then the sounds of each note can be mapped to a (piano) keyboard to compose music on a computer effectively using ‘real’ instrument sounds. If you ever see those documentaries where film composers are sat at a computer and playing violin sounds with a keyboard talking about how they make music etc, the sounds you’re hearing are sample libraries. Normally they’ll then go on to record a real orchestra playing the music live, but it’s not uncommon for smaller budget movies/tv shows/video games to just use recordings with the above libraries. Wanted a decent mini chopper as the cheapo one I bought last year was rubbish. Was looking at getting the KitchenAid which is reduced from £89 to £53 or £56 depending on the colour. Then I spotted the Cuisinart cordless version, which Cuisinart usually sell at £90 and on their website reduced it to £45. BUT… on Amazon it is selling for £29.90 and that is not even a Black Friday deal. I have the proper big Cuisinart Food Processor, and it is built like a tank with something like a 25-year warranty on the motor, so I know they produce pretty good quality.

Looks perfect for making sauces and dips like salsa, pesto, guacamole etc and even mayo.

Jony It’s the best I’ve used of that type and built like a tank. Capable of great espresso with very little effort and a grinder you can fall in love with. Simplicity model the best value imho.
Having said that I think HG1 etc with big burrs are better.

Follow on from a pan thread a while ago. I got 25% off Made In 5ply frying pans. Been thinking about them for a while and a genuine deal unlike the usual Amazon fakery.

I’ve been looking at a Made In frying pan as I have ditched all my old non-stick pans and gone for stainless steel, but boy are they expensive over here in the UK. Also looked at 12 inch Heritage again 5 ply made in the US of A about £116. Really want one, but no Black Friday deals here in the UK that I have seen.

When I checked on Heritage’s website they do have discounts, but by the time international delivery and taxes and custom duty are added, the standard 12-inch pan came to about £134 and the Titanium series £178.

Will have to wait and save up. I did email Heritage to ask if their warranty still applied if bought over here, and they said yes it would be honoured. Good to know.

Have convinced myself that I got a bargain, been watching the historic pricing for some bike gear and the price doesn’t dip too much for the premium stuff. Luckily there was a 20% black friday offer on and I had a single use 10% off voucher from my insurance company for use at the same shop. I ended up saving some 700 quid on the gear so I’m chuffed :)
