Raja123 once it lands and you pay customs etc, could you let me know total cost as would love one but think the customs etc would take it out of my comfort zone. 🙏🙏🙏

Cuprajake well, they contacted me asking about it, and I said if they pay me direct, I’ll let them have the lot. Will see if they actually show up. If not, someone contacted me on Coffee Forums with a better price and wants to buy it for a cafe, so Ill offer them it instead. Im just honoring the initial buyer first.

Raja123 are you sure i will have 10 please!! Or is that just the duty 🤪🤔

Vostok is here. It’s very nice and wonderful to use. I’ll post up some pics once the room is sorted. My office is in a right state atm.

Mine has the safety sleeve. I’m lacking fine measurement accuracy, but I got just over 90ml out in 3 secs with the pump set to 6 bar. At 3 bar it seems to be closer to 20ml/s. This range is plenty fast for my needs and I’m grinding only a little bit finer than I would for a shot on the Streitman (49mm group). The good thing with that is the flavor profile is similar. The shots are already at a very good level: nothing lacking compared to what I get on the manual pulls with the Strietman. I’m very happy I made the switch.

The person that purchased the DE1 should be coming round on Monday to pick it up. Whew…

Dont let him see the Vostic 😎🫣

How are you changing the pump pressure and calibrating at those pressures.

              About Me

Adrianmsmith nothing special: I’m just changing the “Preinfusion” pressure setting and using a scale to check the volume output over time. The Preinfusion pressure setting changes the pump voltage, hence the change in flow rate.

                  Raja123

Im not understanding what you are doing then. 🫣😭

All the preinfusion setting (badly named btw) is, is the set point at which the pump turns off once the system hits that pressure. It wont change the delivery of the pump whilst the pump is running , its either on or off.

Ah, sorry, thats different to how i understand the Evo worked

                  About Me

Adrianmsmith it’s possible I’m wrong about the voltage being changed (I guessed that’s what’s making the change, unless it’s just a limiting bypass valve and speed control?), but the Preinfusion pressure setting does alter the output volume (ACS quoted that also). Does the Evo 2 use the same pump ?

Small observation: you might be better off discussing Vostok / Evo 2 stuff in one of those threads named after the machines. Otherwise imagine users trying to find out about the Vostok pump under a thread title which reads “Nurri on FB”🤔

Sorry i may be wrong in assuming its the same control system as the Evo

Its sounding like rhe Vostok has a more sophisticated control system then.

I assumed it was a simple set point controller…. No speed control etc

Pump on and off until set point reached. System pressure held by non return value.

Pressure is pretty much instantaneously on and off with the rotary pump.

                        About Me

MediumRoastSteam I just continued here because it’s where it was posted and being discussed. Haven’t seen many people ever ask this question, so didn’t bother flipping it out to the threads, heh.

                          Adrianmsmith

pulled up some specs of a rotary pump for espresso machines. I don’t know the model number of the one used in the Vostok, but just looked at specs of a pump specified for such use. Seems typical control mech is centered around speed, with a static voltage. Current draw changes according to the set speed.

For work, I sometimes deal with dc or pwm control for fans or water pumps, so was a tad off base.
