Doram MWJB I have the 4 pack on the way from Craft Decaf/Oddkin. Same here, and had a notification they are on the way.
MWJB I won’t be using Third Wave Water, if that is the recommendation, as it takes ages to dissolve (I recommend mixing the day, or two before, if you do use it). I’ll either use my BWT mg+ filtered tap water, or Volvic (broadly similar composition).
dfk41 These just turned up from The Coffee Apothecary……4 × 50 gms. I will have to check back but I think one is an extra pack as it states non-decaf! Roasted a week ago so I will probably tuck in over the weekend rather than wait!
Dusk dfk41 I thought that was the point, compare the three decaf methods against the same coffee non decaffeinated. I looked at getting involved but I don’t drink enough decaf to warrant having three bags!
dfk41 Dusk I listened to his first video. You may be right. I thought the point was to try the three decaffeination processes side by side, but I did not pay much attention so maybe wrong.
dfk41 MWJB I think I have more to arrive tomorrow so we will soon see. This is the video and yes, he does say 16 tonnes split into 4 lots, one staying as normal and one each for the three proceses
Dusk MWJB That’s a good point but I guess people could do that at home themselves assuming the beans all look fairly similar or get a family member to help
dfk41 These just arrived from Luckie Roasters. First thing I notice is that these are 4 × 100 gm bags, not 40gm like the last lot!
dfk41 And as if by magic, another one appears @MWJB Yep, I now realise Mark but I did not pay that much attention to the detail. I just bought the concept for a bit of fun!
Dusk I forget which one I looked at but iirc they were selling up to 1kg per bag at a very reasonable price
MWJB Craft decaf just emailed to say that they are now down to just a few sets, if anyone is ‘umming & aahing’.
MWJB Craft decaf coffee arrived today, identifying info is stapled to the tops of the bags (the bit you tear/cut off to open the bag), otherwise the bags are unmarked, so beware before taking the labels off - have marked mine on the underneath with a sharpie.
