There isn’t a dedicated fuse for the solenoid valves. I will be honest, I can’t tell what might be wrong, I just find it suspicious that these other faults occurred after the previous fixes.

I have made a number of assumptions:

You are using the multimeter correctly and measuring AC voltage
The solenoid is the right way round
the wires are correctly connected

If indeed the solenoid is only getting 28V, then it will never open….it needs 230Vmains AC voltage to open. Lets explore the voltage a little, you said 28V, but not whether it was AC or DC…I’m assuming you measured that on the AC setting?

What puzzles me is it’s a simple triac on the mainboard that fires the solenoid by passing or not passing 230V

when you measured 28V was this whether the pump was running or not, e.g. is it always seeing 28V AC and then only seeing 230V AC when the solenoid is pulled high…what’s the voltage on the other solenoid?

Today I tried another Multimeter (better one) maybe with more accurate results:

The first Picture is right after turning on the machine. (14,82 V)

The second one is after 45 seconds. I can hear a click noise and then the voltage breaks down. (9,58 V)

Tomorrow I will check the control unit.

I totally understand that you find it suspicious that the current faults occurred directly after the safety valve was replaced. That’s exactly the point that annoys me so much, as it obviously has something to do with my work.

Do you have a diagram of the mainboard? I would like to check tomorrow whether the triac control looks clean or whether I can detect a defect there.

I don’t have a diagram of the mainboard, no one has those (except Gicar), not even Lelit. I just don’t understand those voltages?

I would assume that it is a faulty triac, but this big coincidence that this error occurs exactly when I have just replaced the safety valve seems strange to me.

The next steps for me would be to check the mainboard and, if I can’t find a visual fault there, replace the control unit. I could also take the machine to a workshop, but I don’t think that would give me any advantage as I’m already so far into the process.

There is only one thing, you are measuring the voltages with the wires disconnected (which is what I would have done), I’m wondering if it’s not seeing any load and reacting differently. If you connect the wires to the solenoid and measure the voltage across the solenoid terminals…what do you get?

Apart from that, I noticed that the red connection from the solenoid valve is wired directly to the control unit. The white connection from the solenoid valve is connected to the steam boiler and a pin of the 3-way solenoid valve. Isn’t it strange that the reference potential somehow has no real origin? Maybe I have just overlooked something. I’ll double check it later.

By the way, have I accidentally unplugged this cable (yellow marking in the picture) somewhere without realizing it or is it intentional that it hangs in the air like this?

It’s extremely difficult to see from that photo but lets assume that disconnected connector is attached to a purple wire…does this help? I think for sure you have done something accidentally to cause these problems when replacing things.

Is the unplugged connector possibly the one marked in blue below on Dave’s photo?

That actually helped a lot!!! Thank you so much! I was just too stupid and overlooked the fact that I accidentally disconnected a plug from the 3-way solenoid valve when replacing the safety valve. It was the plug that distributes the reference potential in the machine. Coming from the feed, to the pump, from the pump to the 3-way solenoid valve, to the steam boiler and to the 2-way solenoid valve. As a result, my solenoid valve was never defective and my control unit is also absolutely fine. I should have noticed it after no water ran through the brewing unit for the first 45 seconds in reset mode, as the reference potential was also missing in the 3-way solenoid valve.

So I put the plug back on the 3-way solenoid valve and everything works. Sorry to have taken up so much of your time.
