Yes, rebooted the computer several times and everything else is working as normal.

I will give the above a go inspector, and see what happens.

Another choice, if the above don’t work:

Open command prompt with admin privileges
sfc / scannow

It is a Microsoft utility which will scan all protected system files and replace it with cached files if corrupt. This may be a possibility if you have got a malware installed while browsing.

Also, clear all the cache, cookies and histories. Private browsing or the equivalent in respective browsers is a safe practice.

Well I went into command propmpt nd typed the scannow but just got this message…

You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility.

I have checked and I am down as the administrator for my laptop, so I am ctonfused (not difficult I know).

I have done everything suggested checked everything taken off addblockers, VPN, and anything else I could think of, cleared caches, history, run malware (nothing showing up there) but still no better.

Thanks for your advice. But maybe one day I will log in and for no apparant reason just as they have stopped working, they will just work again. Until then I will just have to access those websites (like if I want to order coffee from Rave etc) on my phone.

I am simply not tech savvy enough to go in too deep. I just do not understand why one minute everything is fine and the next it is not. The only thing I could think of was something to do with the Aeropress website as it was the only different website I went on to my normal ones when it happened. But then why only effect some websites and not others?

If you right click on the cmd, you should be able to run as an admin. I am sure you know this.

Please uninstall the browsers and do a clean install. See if that works

Run a malware and anti virus check. Until this is resolved, please do not use that PC for any online transactions including net banking.

So, I have done literally everything suggested. Even taken off browser, apps, VPN, adblockers, malware apps the lot. Cleared caches and re-booted. Tried Google edge, Chrome and still all the same results.

My only other option is to try a backup but found I had failed to set backup so there is none to go back to. The only other option is a total computer reset which means loosing tons of stuff. But what I will do is copy all my important stuff in to a 2tb stick I have and start again.

Pompeyexile Sorry if I have asked this before, but have you deleted the browser ensuring that all the clingy files are also removed? I am sure someone can tell you how to do that or what software to use as I am a Mac user. You then download it again and it will be a clean install with any corruption removed. I am sure you can save your bookmarks somewhere.
To completely remove all application files when deleting a program on Windows, you can use the standard uninstall process through the “Settings” menu, but for a more thorough clean, consider using a third-party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller or IObit Uninstaller which can scan for and delete leftover files after uninstalling an application; you can also manually search for and delete any remaining folders in your “AppData” directory by navigating to “%appdata%” in the Run window.

have you restarted your router/modem? or tried connecting your pc to your personal hotspot of your mobile phones data?

Yes re-booted the router and made no difference and run as administrator.

Well, I copied all my files etc onto the 2TB stick and completely reset the computer which of course means I have to re-load all stuff apps etc.

So, I started slowly and of course when the computer reset it set itself back to Google Edge no VPN just bare bones. So I tried Rave and bingo!. So I then added Firefox. Again fine. Then I added Duck Duck go mt preferred search engine…no problems.

Then added my Nord VPN… Fine, Rave still working. Then I went into the VPN security bit and ticked all three boxes for Anti Malware, Advanced Browsing Protection and Ad and Tracker Blocker… Blank white screen!

AHA! So, turned off all of them and Bingo! Rave was back. So, then turned on the Ad Tracker Blocker… White screen! So turned it off. Turned on the Advanced Browsing Protection… White screen! So, turned it off. Turned on Anti Malware…Bingo! Rave was back.

So that seems to have been the issue which I thought I turned off before. So, I have contacted Nord to ask why this has suddenly happened. Also, since taking the computer back to bare bones I cannot load my Nord password manager which is a bugger as without it I have no idea of any passwords. Luckily I still have it on my phone so I can get round it that way. Again I have emailed Nord to see what the heck is going on.

So, whilst I seem to have found the culprit, I now have to try and re-load my Sonos, my NAS connection etc.
