When you say you dont WDT, do you mean you dont distribute the grounds at all in the basket or you dont have a big routine of swirling in different directions and different depths with specific diameter needles or 3D printed devices?

No need to wdt. No clumps.

Picture is as dumped from tumbler. I guess the lack of static means a lack of clumps to not break up 🫣

This refers to current practice with the max.

I hope to test mine a bit more. I have not checked beans in to grinds out since I first received her, but I am pretty certain there is next to no retention. I grind into one of those Weber knock off tumblers, do not shake or anything, dump it into the pf, shake it from side to side. I have noticed no clumps at all therefore no need to stir.

Very remiss of me! It is a simple grinder to use and live with. The only problem I have had is that I could not work out how to set the rpm. This meant that it changed from whatever I set it to back to 200 every time. Eventually I solved that! All you need to do is push in and click the rpm dial. I have been a bit hectic since my operation but I will get around to taking some photos and giving a bit more info. The one thing I have meant to do and have not had the chance is to do some taste tests against the Zero.
This morning I have foregone my usual brew made in the Aromaboy for an Americano using Limini Rimini beans. For me, it is hard to beat! Takes me back to Blazing Saddles where they all sit around the campfire, drinking coffee from an enamel jug but not including the beans bit!

Have you also had the “dont be stupid” error…..

If you turn the power outlet on with the grinder “on off” button if the on position…..

I had a bit of spare time this morning. I decided (since I knocked it off) to leave the silicone exit tube off to see if it added anything to the workflow. I weighed out just over 17gms of beans (weight is in the video), did not do anything else, chucked them in the. grinder and video once I had remembered the grind. The end result of trying to make a video and only having one hand was a small amount of retention. SO, I put the camera down, ran the boost button for a few more seconds, thwacked a couple of times and whatever was in the grinder came out. This is so much easier with 2 hands! The grinder is very quiet, despite the sensitive iphone mic.

Hope the below makes sense…

The whole unit floats between the body and screw heads against the spring pressure. When tightening the screws you are not tightening against the thwacker but to the bottom of the blind holes.

The silicone tube has a small nipple to in theory keep in in place. And is otherwise just a snug fit. The thwacker thwacks the top of the silicone tube

Wouldn’t hurt to give it a push avary now and then to make sure if its slipped but pulling will result in removing it 🤪🤗

Comes out lovely and fluffy with no sign of clumpses!! ☕

P.s. i wish the phone had microphone volume volume control it really is not loud at all …..

Adrianmsmith Adrian, I ought to know the answer but does the Flat have variable speed? Would be interesting sometime, to show a side by side of 2 grinds done with and without WDT. I cannot get my mind around bothering to spray if you do not have static. By the time you had sprayed and shaken I was sipping my brew!
