IntoxNitram Mentioned in another thread I’ve had a recent burn to purchase some glass cups for my coffee (usually just filter). Any recommendations anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
DavecUK IntoxNitram Mentioned in another thread I’ve had a recent burn to purchase some glass cups for my coffee (usually just filter). Any recommendations anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated! I used to use cheaper ones, but came back to Bodum…fragile, but the best. I do need a couple more glass easpresso ones. I usually get them when they are on offer at Currys or Lidl
PortafilterProcrastinator Currys sell them?! Didn’t expect that! We’ve got Bodum espresso and larger glasses, they’re certainly preferred for functionality, but they’re pretty dull to look at.
dutchy101 DavecUK what size capacity are the Bodum glasses you use in your videos? Think it’s time to start trying espresso and wondering whether to go for the 0.08l set. There’s a 0.25l set but thinking they’d possibly be too big for espresso glasses?
PortafilterProcrastinator DavecUK Also turns out they get hotter on the top of the machine. My ceramic ones feel very warm, glad ones feel hot. dutchy101 I’d say 80ml is plenty, you just need to be careful stirring if you go for a 1:3 shot. 250ml will obviously work for espresso and I can’t think of a downside really (other than storage space) - it would also mean you could try a long black/ Americano.
Cuprajake Bodum make really nice glasses, they often have sales on their site too. They are fragile though to the point you need to put the drink in before the ice🤦🏻♀️ or the double wall becomes single 😂
Hotmetal I got some double wall borosilicate espresso glasses approx 80ml and some bigger glasses about cappuccino size from Cream Supplies, but it was a while ago now. I never really warmed to them despite thinking it was what I wanted when I got them. I probably would have, but shortly after, I bought a set of Acme cups. I’ve now broken one of them so I need to find something similar.
dutchy101 I’ve gone with 6 × 250 ml Bodom PAVINAs. £29 with Amazon so I’ll have a few spares for breakages. Arriving today so will give them a go tomorrow. Deal: Bodum PAVINA Double Walled Thermo Glasses 0.25 L, 8 oz, Pack of 6
