For sale is my Evo Leva bought in June 2021. It has worked without issue. I think the only thing of note was replacing one of the valves on the bottom of the steam boiler.
IT HAS NOW DEVELOPED AN INTERMITTENT FAULT.
I will describe it as best that I can with pictures and video. There is a small colour display screen that in normal mode has 3 functions. It displays the temperature for the group head, then the brew boiler and lastly the steam boiler. Over the past few weeks, without me touching the screen the display for the group, the first one sometimes switches to off. To reset it you touch the word off which then allows you to turn it back on. This might happen several times during warm up, or as happened today, not at all. I switched the machine on at 8am and it has not missed a beat since.
I have been in discussion with both Dave and Paolo. My constraint is that in 5 years of looking, I have not found a coffee engineer willing to do any work. I found one firm who wanted £70 plus vat an hour plus initial call out and when I rang them to book they said they were too busy with their normal clients.
The display panel has a protective box at the rear. Take that off and the board is held to the display panel by 4 bolts. Mine only had 2 in. I was told not to bother putting more in but to tighten the 2 that were there. Two visits by @Jason1wood who very kindly did this. @Adrianmsmith was kind enough to send me a selection of possible bolts that might fit and 2 of them did. So, with a renewed confidence we turned the machine back on (Saturday morning) and it switched off about 10 times until it reached 70 degrees, then it did not switch off again until 4pm when I turned it off.
Yesterday I switched it on. During heat up it switched off once and the display panel then changed display as if I had touched the brew boiler temp. Display. This does not affect anything and a simple touch of the screen turns it back. It stayed on all day till I switched it off at 3pm. Back on for guests at 3.30 and it turned off once then performed normally. Today I switched it on at 8am and at the time of writing, 13.07 has not faltered once.
Both Dave and Paolo suggest it is the screen at issue. The price in Euros is 194 delivered. That is fair enough, it is the fitting that is the issue.
With a heavy heart I have decided to sell the machine as is. It has been a pleasure to own and I look forward to using it every day. It is not in immaculate condition but it has been well looked after. A couple of little marks here and there but absolutely nothing out of the normal wear and tear.
I think fully fit, this machine would sell for £1300. I am asking £650. I have everything it was delivered with and probably spare seals, a couple of different baskets (If I can find them). I can probably sell a nice Torr Tamper. I think I have the crate it was delivered in. It will definitely need to be collected (Newcastle) as courier is not an option. It comes with the original handles though I have a very expensive set of handles/taps turned by that American bloke Dave someone.
Ask any questions you like. I have been brutally honest with the description and am not aware of anything that I have missed out.
