Went to 20 on the grind setting. The shot pulled way too quickly, in about 22 seconds. Thus, I went down to 18 on the grind setting (coincidentally same as the grams of grounds). The video I’m attaching is with the grind setting at 18. Pulled on the quick end around 30 seconds. A couple questions:
1. Why am I getting so much variability between grind sizes of 17, which yesterday pulled in 45 seconds vs a grind setting of 20 which pulled in 22 seconds (half the time)? I wouldn’t expect that much difference in time. Two things I can think of are tamping (user inconsistency perhaps) or the beans or grinder are just leading it to be that way. Can anyone attest or offer any perspective on that?
2. In the video, I am gtting spraying during my shot pull. You can see the flow spray a bit in the middle. Is that due to bad tamping, tamping too little, tamping too much, or what might that be due to and how can I alleviate that?
