DavecUK a bit more detail: yes the pump comes on immediately. Then the two temperatures that are shown, one after the other, start to rise. One gets to .93 and settles that and .92, so normal, I think that means .925. Then the other temp, which yesterday stayed at 3.4, this morning is on its way to 12.5, which it’s now reached. I’ll try with no portafilter, as you suggest. Done, and normal water flow. I’ll pulling a normal shot, in case it’s returned to normal having been turned all for 24 hrs… be still my beating heart. OK, dreadful shot, pressure, instead of going to 10, only went to 4, water rushed through and after 25secs I had around 50g of coffee. Perhaps because I used the cup of ground coffee from yesterday and it had dried out. I’m grinding fresh and see how that goes. OK another better shot but not “normal”, pressure slowly went to 7 but, in spite of being lower pressure the shot pulled too quickly, as though the grind were coarser.
I’m going to do a thorough clean and recalibrate grinder too, though the grind looks the same as always. I wonder why the pressure drop?
I’ll keep you posted, any thoughts always welcome.
