simonc Does any one know electrical specifics on how the original weight based water sensor worked? Was it a simple it tripped a switch at a certain weight and so out put on/off or is there a load cell there and so there was logic set as to what voltage meant the water was empty?
Yes, it was a steel plate, hinged at one end with a microswitch and a spring below, as soon as the weight was insufficient, the tank lifted and the microswitch made…or broke the contact. I cant’ remember is it was NO or NC (I think NO). The beauty of it, as long as the water tank fitted, and was not over heavy, anything would work.
A stronger or additional spring, would allow the use of a glass tank. I liked the system….nice and simple.
