I wanted a manual meat slicer that was a German make I found on Amazon UK, but upon trying to order, a message popped up saying due to some restrictions regarding the fact we had left the EU, they could not send it. I contacted the company in Germany who said the same, but were very helpful and suggested if I went on Amazon Germany, I could find it there.
I was dubious as I assumed the same restrictions would apply. Anyway, I Did just that expecting when I clicked on the buy button and put in the delivery address, I would get the same rejection come up. However, it all went through easy peasy and was delivered without any issues whatsoever and the price was just a couple of quid higher, I guess due to the fact it was coming from Germany. Do not understand why Amazon could send it from Germany seemingly bypassing the so called ‘restrictions’ but the company themselves could not. I guess having sold into the UK before, since Brexit they had come across this issue before and with a nod and a wink found ‘suggesting’ I look on Amazon DE was a way round it.
Rules are rules I guess, but as some would say, rules are there to be bent.
