Hi everyone. I’ve just received my Vesuvius Dual Boiler back from service/repair and noticed that water still leaks from the E61 drain outlet when under pressure (even as low as 2 bar). The technician replied that this is normal behaviour: “I noticed that you’re using a blind portafilter. What you’re seeing is completely normal, since the water has no outlet, it’s redirected to the safety release valve as a precaution.”
That’s not true, right? The Vesuvius should reduce the pump flow to maintain pressure and not trigger some safety valve, especially not through the e61 drain outlet. Can anyone here confirm this and maybe recommend a source that I can point these guys to so that they believe me? Thanks very much!
