Strietman CT2

Lever machines are on my radar. Anyone on here fortunate enough to own a Strietman CT2?

I only hear good things about this other than the little headroom for cups.

Or what other lever machines are comparable and even better with a steam wand.

I owned a CT2 a few years ago. It is an elegant machine that is a real piece of technology.

I had some of the best espresso from the Strietman. However, as a direct lever, the variable was the amount of pressure I applied to the lever. Some extractions were superb and others not so much.

My opinion: A modern spring lever can make equal or better espresso as the CT2. I sold my CT2 after my Nurri Leva arrived.

Id suggest ACS evo2 or vostok or if you want a cheaper entry point, find an old Evo one.

The strietman and Argos do intrigue me but I could never imagine having the time to actually use one. If money were no object I would probably buy them Just to Tinker and appreciate the engineering design but for daily use The ACS surely is the way to go.

I have a Vostok and a CT1.
I also had an Argos.

I sold the Argos as I was not using it and I thought it a shame that no-one was having fun with it.
They are a great unit.

My CT1 is a late model with SS liner, lid and “Fork Handle”
It makes great coffee without fuss and looks great on the bench.
The low cup clearance is not an issue as I don’t use a scalle and just pour from a demitasse cup to a larger cup for Americanos.
However…. I rarely use it as The Vostok makes great coffee every time.

I am considering selling the CT1.
If I downsize in the future I should be able to buy another one.

Over the hill…….one word makes such a difference! With Antonio having his own factory (joke) and r&d team there has been very little development, especially original development but since I no longer own and Evo what do I care?

Probably around 60% of a Vostok but who knows with the current Tariffs into the forbidden Kingdom.

Cuprajake Aussie dollars for me being in Australia the Vostok is around 9-10k … Nurri around 8-9k. Strietman CT2 would be around 5k with delivery.

Obviously Strietman has no steam wand for milk drinks.

And why not! Be interesting to see if the new technologies the Evo/Vostok come up with get copied as in the past. Be an awful shame for the Nurri fanbase if they fall behind…..still, with an enormous r&d department I am sure that they will soon catch up again

Everyone says lever machines produce a much better quality espresso than pump driven machines. I feel like I’m missing out on life’s simple pleasures.

Mostly ACS do not use distributors, supplying direct to consumer.

I’m Not sure what dealers they supply .

The topic was Strietman CT2 relative to other machines. I don’t know why the conversation needed to head south.

But you can definitely count me in the Nurri fan club.

But of course, this website is the home to the ACS fan club. Not surprising some participants felt the need to go low.

cyclezib We talk about anything and everything on here without worrying about rules! This is not HB! Start a new thread matey and tell us about all the changes and updates to your machine. Genuine interest as there seems to be very little Nuri chatter these days
