drdre89 I’ve been off caffeine for 2 weeks now.
I’m quite intolerant of caffeine, sadly. More than two coffees a day (two 18g doubles) and things definitely go downhiil for me, to the point that I’m almost ill. Two coffees are the limit.
I’ve given up caffeine for like 2 months. I don’t feel anything when I give up (no withdrawal symptoms). I don’t feel the urge to have a caffeinated. drink. I don’t drink coke, I don’t drink energy drinks. I do drink alcohol in the form of red wine and beer.
A month ago I started caffeine again. I went to visit my parents and that’s what they have, so I just drank what was on offer (they don’t drink specialty coffee) - filter coffee. I just didn’t feel better or worse. I just drank it - but I did know when I had too much caffeinated coffee.
Now I’m back, I bought more caffeinated coffee (albeit I only have first thing in the morning), and any subsequent coffees are decaf. I have to say… The flavours of decaf coffee, no matter what others say, in my opinion, cannot be compared to the real deal (caffeinated) sadly. It’s like non-alcohol beer, wine etc… It’s just not the same flavour wise. Again, for me at least.
Regardless, for me… once the 1kg of Rocko Mountain from Foundry Coffee Roasters is gone… I’ll likely just go back to decaf. It’s just simpler that way.
