New steam boiler for Izzo Alex Duetto II

Hi,

I am trying to find where to buy a replacement steam boiler (and other parts generally) for my Izzo Alex Duetto in the UK. Is there a contact at Izzo I can get in touch with?

I used the contact form on https://caffeizzo.it/contact/?lang=en and got a quick reply, I will update here when they finalise the price including shipping.

In the mean time I cleaned up all the existing parts and reassembled the machine. I was fully expecting leaks to spring from everywhere but not a single drop or weeping joint appeared. I guess what appeared to be leaks were in many cases the product of corrosion between the dissimilar metals over the years (machine is from 2012). All joints sealed with Loctite 55 pipe sealing cord. Heater elements sealed with 42×4 viton o-ring snugged up with an impact wrench.

The corrosion is from very slight leaks, not from dissimilar metals.

With ‘O’ rings they do not need to be overtightened, particularly Viton etc , over-tightening can crush and cut the O ring. I would suggest you slacken it off and just tighten it firmly.

I will keep an eye on the potential leaks and replace the boiler if it comes to it. Izzo have given a preliminary price of €152,00 excluding shipping and possibly VAT. So not too bad.

When I say snugged I mean I applied sufficient torque to squash the o-ring by 0.5-1.0mm. As it is a 4mm o-ring I believe that is the correct amount of squash. No sign of leaking so far.

€60 for shipping
So that would be £220 including VAT.
