Cordless Pressure Washers

I wondered if any had experience of these. I have often thought about buying one, being tempted by these tv adverts offering them for £50. Dave always used to say do not waste your money but with the run up to Xmas the tv adverts have started again.

Having looked at the various cheaper offering I wondered if buying a branded one such as Ryobi would be better.

Then I get confused with the offers and different batteries and outputs so it goes no further. All I really want, is to rinse the car and windscreen and wheels! My garage is detached from my house by about 40 yards with no water or electricity. Ryobi seem to offer a 3 year warranty which appeals. Does anyone have any advice please, or better still, a link to a fantastic deal! Black Friday is coming up apparently

I’ve had a Worx Hydroshot for about 5 years, I was similar where my garage was a long way from my house and without power or water.
First thing to say is that they aren’t as powerful as mains powered ones but still powerful enough to do a good job of washing a car but not ideal to clean a large patio.
The battery should last long enough to wash a car, the issue for me was always water as you’d go through multiple buckets before the battery ran out. You have to lug lots of water and then having a hose that needs to stay in the bucket which you have to carry around, it’s a pain and I didn’t wash my car very often.

I have a mains powered Karcher one that I bought for the car and motorbikes and still take the car to the car wash…

As above, there’s a lot of lugging around and plugging in hoses and then coiling them back up and unplugging everything etc. I sort of regret buying mine to be honest.

Have you had a look at the pump action ones you can get on Amazon? I used to have one when I lived in apartments in London with no access to outside taps. They look a bit like those weed killer bottles that gardeners carry round and you just fill it up, pump it a few times and you get enough pressure to spray. You wouldn’t want to regularly clean a car with one but to just wash off the screen/wheels as you say it might work ok.

I have a Stihl P/W which I have had for many years and found it very useful.

As already stated you do need a hose and an extension cable. The hose I have on a reel mounted on the wall just pull it off and after wind it back on.

Three different nozzles and a bottle for cleaning / foaming fluids.

I use it for the car , greenhouse , paths and patio.

Not cordless, so possibly not a useful post here, but I picked up a Workzone pressure washer from Aldi about 7 years or so ago for £70 for washing my patio. It’s been brilliant.

Thanks to all for your help. I particularly needed a cordless one (I have a normal one anyway). I have a water supply in the front garden and I can park my car close enough to the house for a 25 metre hose to readch. I ended up buying this Ryobi model:

Having a hose will make life much easier, they get through water surprisingly quickly! The batteries last plenty long enough though

Well, it arrived a couple of days ago. Now fully charged and assembled. I used it briefly on ‘turbo’ mode. Rather than take it out and use on the car which is what I bought it for, I just aimed it at a patio flagstone!

Cleaning a patio is definitely more satisfying than cleaning a car!

Pressure washing a patio is all fun and games until you look up and realise you subsequently need to wash your house, yourself, both yours and your neighbours car and everything else that got covered in the cr*p that was previously on your patio…

A satisfying but totally filthy endeavour.

HarveyMushman It was just a test! Each year the stones get a chemical was which keeps them pristine until about now. Next year I have bought some stone sealer so hopefully this will be a thing of the past! I bought some snow foam solution and a bottle to attach to the washer for the car. Am waiting for one of my sons to help me!

Those foaming solution attachments are great and it’s quite satisfying covering your car in snow-like foam and the blasting it all off.
