Yes, I remineralise, with a mineral solution I thought would not have minerals that cause scaling. And I add this stuff up to a ‘normal’ TDS ppm of about 100 to create natural water, just 3 drops per liter.

But after a good look at the RO filter, which is of the type that pumps the waste water back into the main water tank, the TDS ppm creeps up to 100 at the end of a fill cycle and extends to the begin of the next. The manufacturer states this is normal and if I replace the water early, when it is half full, ppm stays below 30. From now on I will do that.
Plain water from the tap is 300+ …
Now considering to use the original remineralisation cartridge because that is, according to the manufacturer, also good for lubrication of the pump.
I also think that it is the lime scale that must be the root cause, but don’t know how. The lower part of the boiler, the porta filter holder, has internal water channels with some ‘logic’ that distributes water down to the portafilter and up a pipe for filling the boiler. This is my assumption … If anything got blocked in there, maybe the pressure increases to produce the leak?
Can I remove the solenoid and re-attach without the need for special glue or gasket? According to the diagrams this is the case. I would like to immerse the entire part without exposing the solenoid to the acid solution. Or poor some solution into the inlet while blocking both outlets? Anyone experience with that?
Cheers, Bart.
