He uses the term calibrate far too many times when he simply means zeroing.

To some probably not a big deal 🤪

Lance on the other hand has been relatively interesting recently. 😎

Watch for yourself, maybe it wont annoy you as much as it does me!!

I recently picked up yet another Specialita, on demand is quite satisfying. GBW would be next level.

After 8 weeks of use i decided it was time to clean the mini g

Way over what mazzer recommended!!

Well i wont be panicking in the future to add it to my calendar

No horror stories and i managed to scrape a grand total of 0.98g from everywhere.

Before anyone jumps in this is not what will be exchanged on every shot or any shot.

The tray was .4g removed after cleaning the top carrier

Burr carrier movement after cleaning , before adding molykote 111 to final reassemble .

Its a 1.5mm thread but i don’t have a flat top gauge for propper cleaning!! Standard pointy one does the trick mostly.

Tools used:

Micro fibre cloth
Kitchen towel

Niche and mazzer brushes (fat and thin!)

Various WOODEN pointy things (cocktail sticks, burger sticks) , not the stainless steel ones dentists use!

Ive been enjoying a little Specialita the last month or two for a bit of “on demand”.

Once I’ve got it where I like it, it is within 0.1 to 0.2g either way of my 18g target almost all of the time. I’ve stopped weighing every shot and give it a sanity check by the fill level after tamping.

It’s super simple and works pretty consistently, obviously it’s no where near as nice as the GBW machines you guys are using. Just putting in my 2pence, that on demand grinders do have a use at home. I’ve been using it with my every day go to beans and saving the duo for the rest.

Anyone done a eureka GBW Vs Mazzer GBW comparison yet? They both look rather good

Tal I hace the Eureka 75mm GBW and love it. I think the Eureka 75mm burrs are up there with the best burrs in the world. I did test the first two grinds for weight but in truth, I simply do not care if the doe is within 0.1gms of desired or not!
