If it’s an original Mathmos, you can get them from their website. They’re quite specific and hard to replace from other makes.

Not very original I know, but I just received some IMS accessories for my Evo Leva (two competition baskets, a shower screen, and a cherry handle to go with the 54.4mm base)

Gagaryn Getting this up three flights of stairs was fun. 😫

I can imagine.

The wife and I just nearly killed ourselves trying to get a 55″ LG OLED C1 TV up the stairs and set up. The worst bit? Attaching the stand.

The instructions are one of those ultra-irritating diagrammatic Ikea-type sheets. It shows laying the screen face down on a small table to attach the stand. That’s fine…. if you have one. It’s nearly impossible if you don’t, largely because the top two-thirds of the screen is very thin, about 3/16ths, I’d guess, and glaass and you’re warned NOT to use it so pick it up. It might crack. The bottom third has the electronics package attached, and you have to handle it by that bit.

So it’s big, heavy. very awkward to hold, badly balanced (until you get the rather heavy stand on it), fragile and certainly not cheap. Great fun.

What’s a TV got to do with coffee stuff? Well, I needed a large screen to watch coffee roasting videos on Youtube. 🤪

That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

This V3 Rancilio Silvia arrived a few weeks ago. I’m slowly working through the various issues before reassembling it. Boiler now complete and ready to fit, boiler adapted to take replaceable element, drill and tap M4 hole for PT100 thermocouple, OPV adjusted, new seals etc.

@Norvin Fascinating to see all the internals laid out like that. As one of our less technical brethren I am in awe of those with the knowledge and confidence to reduce a machine down to its components. Will you post a picture when it’s restored to working order? It would be great to see the finished article.

I’m even more in awe of those who can put it back together again… 😉

And yet more so still if they don’t have a small collection of miscellaneous nuts and bolts, and a component or device or two they’re not even sure of the purpose of, left over.

If you ever “help” a friend with such a project, you could (and I would never do this, of course 😉 ) take an odd widget or doodad with you from something completely different, and sneak it into the pile when they’re not looking. The expression of bemusement when they find it can be priceless …. I imagine. 😁

        Yes, no problem.

I’ll take a few pictures during the process and may do a restoration thread.

DavecUK I walked into that one didn’t I? Yes, so much more respect to those who can put them back together again.

Norvin Thank you it would be fascinating to see the project progress.

I would definitely love to see a story board as it goes back together, not only very interesting, but a useful reference to others attempting similar work.

I would love to see a thread dedicated to the rebuild project. I’ve often thought about buying an old Classic or Silvia to restore and fit out with PID, etc, just to fight off the boredom some days!

This dropped through the letterbox yesterday; Portafilter gasket and grouphead to boiler gasket for my Europiccola. Also a torx bit to get the base off if ever I need to.

OK it wasn’t exactly today, but I got a bag of Kabira Ethiopia natural from Django (I know naturals might be a bit ‘marmite’ but I love em!)

I haven’t figured out how to do pictures on this forum without overloading the flux capacitor yet.
