Sham Maybe, I would be super happy with the funnel, but it is nowhere to be found to buy. I only found it on one website asking for 150 quid (with 10% discount included 😆)

      Petre try evilbay or AliExpress, you’re looking for a plunger funnel for making octopus balls or sometimes called a fudge funnel. About 10 quid. It’s going to have to be seriously modified but it’s 304 stainless and almost same size as Mazzer funnel. Been used by a lot of modders…jimbojohn on old forum has a walkthrough with very helpful pics.( have one on the way for my Fiorenzato F6)

                  headstar Is that a MaraX with black wood upgrade kit (+ flow control)? The wooden valves look nice. That’s an uncommon mod. What was your impression of the change? Subtle? Would you do it again?

                      Hi all, just joined the forum from the other one 😬 and finally have a shiny new setup to show off. I have spent two years enjoying learning espresso with the Barista Express and managed to persuade my wife to let me have this for my birthday 🥳

                      loving it so far, real step up in quality and ease of workflow. Looking forward to playing with the paddle more once I’ve got the basics down

                        Jcheney Hard to say anything yet as I only installed the flow yesterday. For sure it’s different and I need to learn how to manipulate the paddle - small moves change a lot.

                        I chose the black wood kit as wooden brown would not fit anything in my kitchen and it looked kind of “toyish” for my wife 😆

                            headstar But what about just keeping the black plastic knobs? How happy are you with that change? Photos are difficult due to the reflectance of the surfaces. I think the matte finish of the knobs works well with the body, but so many people show off photos (Reddit or on other forums) of MaraX’s, and very few (I don’t think I have seen any) went with the black wood kit.

                                Jcheney , you might be right that changing black to black makes not much sense. The upgrade kit was coming with matching portafilters and legs (which maybe I will try to adapt for Mara). It’s all cosmetics rather, and If I ever plan to switch to Bianca I will have the set ready 😎
