My wife keeps asking me about getting a decent filter for tap water. We use a Brita filter and change the cartridge monthly but I know they are not brill. Was looking at the Zero water but apparently they are shutting/shut down in the UK accord to google this year, closed on the lakeland store.
I used to have a decent RODI unit for my marine tank that I should of kept hold of but hey ho thats gone.
I do use a megahome water distiller for my espresso machine that gives me about 4 litres in around 5 hours but there must be a more efficient way, I certainly would use this for making drinking water.
