I have no idea what any of this means, lol. All I know is if it takes 10 drops of my KH test to turn 20ml of my zero warer yellow, I can put it in my Minima. Perhaps not the best thread for me to post it in.

This isn’t a new technology, is it not? I believe the US military is doing something to supply water for their soldiers, GE last year signed a $14M [contract](https://3dprintingindustry.com/news/ge-research-awarded-14m-to-3d-print-portable-device-that-produces-water-out-of-thin-air-183892/) last year and one of the Israeli [firm](https://www.israel21c.org/israeli-tech-turns-air-into-water-for-native-americans/)s is already doing something in this space. So many of these campaigns are obvious scams. There’s no way this machine can work in the way described. Is there even a fan to pull air in over the rocks? How is the water extracted? Will it just suck all moisture out of the air or will it only work when humidity is detected above 50%? People are so easily fooled by a “prototype” with plumbing and a pump inside it that over 500k has been given away already.

As well as running costs you’ve got the filters to replace. Inevitably parts will need replacing too. Presumably, there is a fan in there and something to heat the desiccant? And pump to get the water up from the tank to the dispenser….of course, it still won’t work the way it’s described as it’s silent, so it can’t have a fan to draw the air in. Presumably there will be a HX for hot water that’ll need cleaning and replacing too.
