My Knowledge of what's to come

I am sure people know that as part of my hobby I am privy to certain information from manufacturers about new models of machine, grinders and roasters. I often get asked about what’s coming and is there going to be an upgrade, I do get concerned when people buy something that is fairly quickly upgraded as they may blame me for not telling them. Retailers are none too pleased with me either.

Quite a few recent posts have been for things I have known about beforehand, often for a year or more. Sometimes they come out exactly as they should, sometimes a few more tweaks get made.

However, I have to keep the confidences because if I didn’t, nothing would ever be shared with me, I could influence nothing and this would ultimately not be a great thing for you. I always have your back when talking to different manufacturers in terms of what you want, how much you want to pay and what you really don’t need. Which is very different from what Retailers want and “think” you want. If the manufacturers cuts me out because I can’t keep my mouth shut, Ultimately, it wouldn’t change anything for you, as I also wouldn’t know…

I am in the unusual situation of having permission to Vlog the Sandbox smart 2 stuff…usually though, “engineering/should we stock it” things I review , you never get to hear about. Unless it gets stocked…this then looks as if I always give things a good review….which I don’t.

DavecUK Well said Dave. Of course, we understand.

But, just give us a subtle hint, where possible.

Example: you advised me recently “I would wait a bit” on electric single dose grinder, when I said the Evo is already exposing the limitations of JX pro. 🤣

BTW, we haven’t seen any updates from you on the Sandbox roaster. We are all waiting! 😊

I understand completely. But… If you do get wind of an impending meteorite impact that will wipe out civilisation at least give us a big enough hint so we can have that last cup of coffee in hand and enjoying it as the bugger hits.

The problem is, if I know of a new model coming out and retailers around the world all have stock. perhaps 1000s of units…and I said…oh in the next few months there is a new model…or the manufacturer is just waiting for retailer stock to run down before launching it….Can you imagine what the effect of that would be!!

Not just on the manufacturer, but all the retailers as well, plus the competition…no one would ever talk to me again!
