@"RobertRo101"#p9667 I've been using the V3 for almost a year now…low flow works well. Especially good if you don't want to move the paddle..It was one of my favourite new things on Bianca. For the upgrade you would need a new LCC, some wiring and the additional solenoid with a slight plumbing change.

The Bianca Review is a version 1, so quite old now. I may well update it…essentially the machine is unchanged except for the addition of the new features. I may have a few extra features the production version doesn't have, and my solenoid is slightly different (they are sending me a replacement, if I get any problems with mine)… I was originally sent it to try it and see if there were any problems…which there were not…it wall worked very well. I don't think I have a manual, but I will download the production manual as my version a year ago has something else I won't mention, until I find out if it was in the production version. I suspect my software might not be exactly the same version, but again until you guys by one and if the software version is on the back of the LCC I won't know…plus mine could still have been a reflashed LCC. I have to be very careful when commenting on pre production stuff so early in the chain. Really like the version 3 though, as compared to the version 1, lots of features were new….and I do need to update my version 1 to a version 2.

This is why, despite my recent challenges, I really love the Bianca (and Lelit). I have been toying with updating to LCC 2. I may hang fire and update to LCC v3 though, with my new found boldness for tinkering with the machine 😉

The Low flow used in conjunction with PI seems to be a good combination. Dave, have you been using just the low flow or do you always use the PI with it ?

Really great feature. It basically mirrors the profile I use 99% of the time so it’s handy to be able to automate it. It’s also really awesome to see Lelit iterating on what is already a fantastic machine. It’s impressive how quickly the group head pressure changes when the low flow kicks in.

Its a good option, not sure id rip my machine apart for it, but its a good out the box incentive to buy the v3 over a competitor

there will hopefully be some other upgrades that the new LCC bring that are worthwhile.

Received mine today

boys it’s heavy. And it feels very easy to scratch … took me way longer than expected (admittedly I did it a lone and I’m not the strongest man) to move the tank to the side.

Yet to pull a shot, trying to run a few rounds through the service boiler, found a bit of tiny dust/ground in the water???, this is a demo machine so it’s used before, 25 shots total. but first performance impression - even at 130*C, the steam is noticeably stronger than Elizabeth at 140*C :o

Yeah they clearly marked two people are needed. but I’m home alone. Wife will only be home very late tonight, a few friends are too busy to come by (I know they’d love to). yeah - can imagine how hard it would be with evo leva. but I feel Bianca is a bit more “delicate” in that matter (easier to scratch).

Now first shot ran fine. Forgot to turn on my scale, so it’s probably a bit off mark. but there is something special about the taste. like sweeter, fuller body, both more “gentle” and more profound than my Elizabeth. not sure if that has anything to do with the low flow start. lol, my taste bud is not that great, and my coffee tasting experience is basically none, plus honeymoon period, so take that with a lot of sand.

overall, the first impression is very positive. Glad that I did the upgrade :)

Did a test today and with 91*C (drinking a dark roast) target temp for brewing and 130*C steaming, the LCC displays OK and stops flashing at 14 minutes mark.

it means both boilers have reached the targeted temp (and stabilized) and by definition of LCC it’s ready to go. not sure what you meant.

delta76 - the boilers might have reached temperature, but it doesn’t mean the E61 is stable and ready. If we were to go by data, then the machine takes 19 minutes or so to get there.

The Elizabeth’s warming up sequence is similar to the Bianca. On the Elizabeth, the “OK” is shown as soon as the warming up sequence finishes, and, at that point, the temperature inside the brew boiler is 130C (120C displayed, + 10C offset).

The point is we already have shot temp test by kaffemacher (17m for 93). As Jake did the test with 96 I decided to test it with 91 for another data point. Don’t recall you questioning the meaning when Jake did

But yeah. If works for you, then there’s no point arguing, which is silly of me anyway because so don’t even have a Bianca. My comments are solely based on experience with the E61 on a different machine, that’s all. So let’s just put this to bed, and 14 minutes it is, which is quite impressive.

I’m not sure what you mean by clean any remaining coffee in both”. Don’t you clean them both after you are done with your coffee? There shouldn’t be any coffee residue left in the group or in the portafilter.

Personally I think it is ready

Don’t forget the e61 is dual boiler so the group head is attached to the boiler, this boiler gets heated to 120 before cooling so in effect it’s overheating the group

I have no way of testing group temp or water temp after this initial phase as I feel group thermometer or the infra red ones pointed at it are useless

These lumps of brass change temp quicker than we are leg to believe imo.

Cuprajake i do too. Unless if someone is really in a hurry, it takes another 1 minute or two to pull a shot (usually 5 minutes for me, I am clumsy), so at that point it is more than ready. Also I am usually not waiting by the coffee machine for the lcc stop flashing (so actually a feature I would hope for v4 is a beep when it is ready).

All in all, 15 minutes to be ready by Bianca is true, which is amazing for an E61

Cuprajake This is my observation as well. I cannot taste a difference between a 12min shot and a 30min one.

One thing I do is a healthy flush after a 12min warmup because the initial water tends to flash boil; presumably this is from the fast warmup procedure it follows.

Could you use a E61 group thermometer to test the water temperature coming out?

MediumRoastSteam i do. But i usually find few bits of coffee ground in the water when i flush, so I would flush anyway.

Did try to measure temp of the group head but due to its reflexive natural, the infared thermometer only reads 35c, while it is certainly hot to touch. The instant read meat thermometer reads around 71c on top, and that is almost after lcc stops flashing. I would not trust that very much because I was not touching the tip which is critical for accurate reading. It only means it is at least 71°c. And that is on top

MediumRoastSteam And strange you did not remember. We were discussing what Lance said in his review that Bianca needs 30m to brew light roast which is a show stopper for you. jake decided to test with 96*C which the lcc stops flashing at 12m. I am pretty sure you did like that post :)

Cuprajake me too. I often find myself forget about the coffee, or have a meeting I have to attend, only come back to see my Elizabeth has come into sleep mode. But I know start up time is important to some, so offering some data might be useful for potential buyers :)

delta76 if you put some non reflective tape such as masking tape on it you will get an accurate reading from an ir thermometer. This is a great way of measuring temps of metal surfaces such as radiators with an iron thermometer.
