Yeah that red one is really for a ferrari enthusiast ! Just like the stainless one with the Maradona etching on it- only for a diehard Diego fan!

IMHO bloggers are just like people - you get all sorts and there are better ones and there are worse ones; there are some who have a more amateuristic or rambling or annoying presentation while there are others who use very high production values. There are some who are more idiosyncratic while there are those who are very dry and matter of fact and all sorts in between those extremes. As the industry matures, imho they will get better and the really better ones who publish more useful content will separate themselves more clearly from the rest.

FadedFrontiers Far from being rude, dude… Guess some in life can’t figure things out and need guidance on some level. EVERYTHING in life has always been and always be subjective and people really need to put that front and center.

When someone reviews something, they receive some kit then live with it for a reasonable amount of time so that they can learn the ups and down of using it. The speed with which many influencers (I guess there is a clue in their name) come out with promotional videos is often alarming

Judging ftom his first review post on it, charlie moritz had and used his nurri leva for something like 3 months I believe before he reviewed it. And that nurri was his own personal unit and not a loaner for review purposes. While Tom had his for at least 4 months before finally reviewing it. So I reckon that’s quite long enough to get a fair idea of the machine.

As for hedrick he should have had his test unit for at least a few weeks judging from h videos where the machine is sitting in the background.

With respect, just because people have subjective opinions doesn’t mean that others’ impressions of some product or service or media aren’t useful as a guide to others when they do not have the chance to try out that product or service or media for themselves before buying it. Otherwise the only way to obtain any idea of it other than reading the product specs or the manufacturers info on it is to spend your money to buy it - which is too late as u would have already bought it.

I’m not knocking the influencers since I a get a lot of value from some but you’re on the money I reckon.

It’s the difference between a first date versus living together.

We’re looking to have that kit “move in” with is and live with it.

As such, giving us a thumbs up on a piece of kit is akin to them having one date with a girl/guy and then recommending that we marry them!

I would agree that it definitely would make the review a lot less persuasive if the blogger just had the gear for a few days and mad e a video on it for example.

Actually my take is that the influencer is out to sell his own brand rather than the product. He gets income from having a following who trust what he says. So for him to just be a shill for the manufacturer totally defeats what he is trying to achieve as sooner or later people will catch on. So I reckon that it’s more complex than that and cannot be generalised as a whole …

chlorox I don’t agree, the influencer serves himself but has to shill for manufacturers as well, or they have to buy their own kit. Many influencers have fingers in pies they don’t disclose. There is so much hidden interest. One thing for sure, they only do it for the money, hence buyer beware.

A couple of the more established bloggers do buy their gear to review so that would tend to promote a greater degree of independence.
