Nightrider_1uk - you do. But the money doesn’t go to this forum. Instead it goes to the people who make freeflarum possible. If you click on the Donations link at the top, it will take you to that post. Worth a read.

As MRS said, freeflarum provide managed hosting to a lot of forums for nothing…the Flarum software is nothing to do with them, it’s open source free forum software, doesn’t cost me a bean. The freeflarum guys have it all preinstalled, plus all the extensions….their service survives on volunteers and donations. They feel the corporations have too much control over the internet and people’s ability to communicate. I think Verticalscopes acquisition of coffee forums have proven that…they bought a database, they don’t care about the community.

So if people want to donate, then freeflarum.org can get the money and hopefully keep doing what they do for longer. We indirectly are helping 100s or 1000s of small non-profit forums….they have to be non-profit to meet the freeflarum T&Cs

So please don’t donate thinking this forum, it’s members or me get the money or any special treatment…we don’t, we just help support other communities. like ours.

Hello! I’ve always been a GOOD coffee lover but most recently entered into the latte world and love it even more! I have my new Lelit Mara X with flow control added…great machine. Learning how to perfect my latte art and brewing techniques and want to connect with those that share this love!

DavecUK My biggest challenge in general with all of this is perfecting my latte art skills. I’ll think I get it right and then poof! I’m having issues again. I guess it takes practice.

smartblonde61 I’m not great at latte art, because I rarely make milk drinks, although I do know getting the milk texture right is critical.

Hello all,

I’ve just joined up!

I’ve got an ECM Synchronika and Eureka Olympus 75 grinder (Titanium)which I bought new 4 years ago. I tried to get something I wouldn’t need to upgrade in a hurry, and that’s certainly the case with the ECM. I love that machine,, If it wasnt so effin heavy I’d cuddle it every night!

It’s opened the door to some amazing coffee brews, and one or two not so good, but compared to high street coffee it’s miles better, ad has probably turned me into a bit of a coffee snob. I look forward to sharing some bean recommendations.

After four years I’ve had my first problem with amy Synchronika, nd I’ve posted a request for help in the forum. I hope someone here can shed some light on my issue…

Hi all,

A bit late crossing over from the other side but nice to be here with you all.

My journey started years ago with a moka pot and pre ground coffee. Still have the moka but added to the toolbox. Currently that comprises:

Lelit Mara X with OPV diversion mod and Coffee Sensor Flow Control/Eureka Mignon Specialita;

V60/Commandante C40

And recently the Wacaco Picopresso for travelling.

Hi All

From the North East and always looking for friendly banter.

My coffee journey started with a BTC but quickly moved on to a Gaggia Classic, Rancilio Silvia to where I am now with a Lelit Mara X and a Linea Mini and supported by a Niche and DF64/Solo.

Drink espresso/Americano mainly and like trying lots of different coffee providers but keep coming back to Compass.

Looking forward to seeing this site grow and develop.

smartblonde61 The Mara X when shipped dumps the water from the OPV into the drip tray. That’s a lot of wasted water. The modification is to divert this water either back into the reservoir or to the pump. In my case I went for the latter option. It’s a relatively simple process and covered in detail on the other forum. Happy to help anyone here who wishes to know more.

I was on the other forum looking to solve a problem with my Lelit Bianca and saw that Dave moved so here I am. I was always hesitant to post over at the other one as the responses seemed a little unfriendly.

edit: I should say Dave was never unfriendly.

Dave135 I think we need to get the guts of that discussion moved to this forum…the author should have the rights to reproduce his stuff here…although the corporate owner I think claims they “own” all the data on the forum as that’s where the money they hope to make comes from.
