Hello to all,
Iām going to tell this in a highly compressed manner, please ask if you have a question.
I was an espresso enthusiast in the 1990s. A relationship change in 2001 swapped fine teas for all coffee. A few years back I found my long abandoned La Pavoni Professional in deep storage and began looking into restoring it and enjoying coffee once more. Along the way I also found the Niche Zero and Fellow Ode grinders
A number of projects and co-founding a startup pushed LPP work back continuously; now seems likely it will be completed in October. I had been planning to upgrade the Ode to Gen 2 when the Niche Duo was announced. Iām keeping the Zero, selling the Ode, adding a Duo with two burrs.
Similarly, I was planning to add an Elektra MCAL to use with my LPP, however Iām a planning to sell my LPP and replace it with an Odyssey Argos with all three piston assemblies (direct, 6-bar, 8-bar).
So my final minimalistic coffee setup will be Zero, Duo, Argos, and an assortment of brew gear. My real interest is coffee and Iād rather be purchasing beans than equipment. The above gear is adequate for any experiments I might do, and l will likely remain the limiting factor, not the hardware.
I have found the H-B forum very informative. Iāve read hundreds of threads in the last four months; many starting with the forumās beginnings in 2005 or soon after. However, over time the SNR has declined, and it has grown much more contentious.
I came here now because of reading many informative posts there by DaveC and CupraJake, and a PM exchange with Dave. The level of discourse here seems quite good ā polite, friendly, well-informed. Iām looking forward to participating.
