JimmyP I didnβt suggest anything, I clearly explained the known difference, re read my response.
pH is loosely related to alkalinity, but once you have water of a given alkalinity, then pH is largely set, so for most folk, you donβt get the option to change one independently of the other - unless you are in a soft water area, where your water pH may be adjusted by the supplier to stop it eating your pipework/appliances.
