As part of my ongoing attempt to solve the hardness of my water for coffee, but also generally for the house, and my wife’s tea drinking, I am considering a whole house softening system.
Would it be possible to then remineralise the softened water (ie use a tap that is softened and not the kitchen tap) for use in a double boiler machine or is it better to have that for the house, but still have another solution for coffee that would use the unsoftened kitchen tap, ie zero jug, distilling etc.

@DavecUK do we need a water tag / area? It would make it easier to find all water related posts as it seems a lot of people, me definitely included, find this harder than how to use machines.
