The pressure release is nice but not needed and the safety sleeve wasnt well implemented on mine nor was the drip tray, the laser cut tray is awful, wobbles and the improved drip tray leaked

I have never seen the need for the Safety system, BUT I do think the Blind Sleeve with the shower screen as it is gives a big improvement and water distribution over the clip held screen in the open (original) sleeve. Obviously to make this work with the flow i wanted one hole wasn’t enough.
Also the cylinder stays clean with no signs of coffer in there (i’ve only looked 4 times so far)
It would like to see what is currently shipping, to give over 11 bars with the safety system. (and see what flow is now given) @sketchy do you have any photos. surely you must have had it in tiny pieces by now !! :-)
The Pump…. nothing wrong with the rotary pump I have, (not sure if it is the same as the one being shipped currently or if it was downsized ) BUT id probably go back to the original pump (opinion / no way to test!!) because if i thought exact pre infusion pressures were necessary, the original gear pump may give slightly improved accuracy at the lower pressures as the rotary is almost too good at instantaneous pressure. I need to STRESS this is NOT an issue and does not give any real life worry. just one of those what if thoughts. If only i had access to Paolos scarp bin!!
I do not miss the mechanical pressure stat. the new digital pressure monitoring and set point changing system is a dream come true!!
The dump system / dump solenoid i definitely recommend. to me it was the best upgrade as it obviously had to go hand in hand with the digital pressure senders.
The black drip tray i ordered is perfect, and as a bonus, doesn’t leak!!
……Wondering if anyone does stainless anodising now i’ve finished cutting holes in my tray. may look great in black ??!!

the chassis is night and day improved. no flex.
There are 2 reasons i haven’t tried a Decent. ( i have “tried to purchase” a couple of times ( that last lot of cosmetic seconds were very attractively priced! @LMSC but there were no black ones!! )
- its the only coffee related purchase item ive had a flat NO from the CFO. “Its ugly” seems to be the sticking point.
- that water system. its like they ran out of meetings after designing the temperature and pressure systems, and the guy sat in the corner shouting “how are we going to feed water to it” wasn’t heard. they had a couple of trays left over from the previous nights takeaway so used them and later redesigned them in to pot. @dfk41 , it would need a full small cupboard to plumb it in. :-)
- As i’ve said, i don’t mind the sound from the gear pump on the Evo 1. But, the racket from the decent (Sorry!!). Yes, i know its not quite as bad in real life as it is on YouTube :-)
