Cuprajake Depends on grind size. I don’t have a single method that I use all the time, I tend to use a bunch of different regimes & brewers with each bag. There isn’t one method to rule them all, lots work you just match them to brew size and grind setting.
Grind that allows 12% to pass though 400 Kruve (maybe in the region of 60 on the Niche? Can’t say for sure as I use a Feldgrind for this grind) I use 2 methods for 13.8g coffee:
#1 Pouring direct with gooseneck, V60 01, 30g poured every 20 seconds to 210g total, each pour takes 10s duration. Pour in spirals until you get standing liquid at the start of the later pours, then pour in the middle.
#2 Using V60 02, gooseneck and Drip Assist. Pour 40g every 40s to 200g total, each pour takes 15s. First 2 pours in the centre, last 3 in the ring.
Whilst not technically a V60, I have also been using the Mugen with this grind setting, pour 30g, bloom 30s, then pour 60g every 30s to 210g total. 2nd & 3rd pours will be almost all in the middle and take about 20s each. This brewer is more self regulating than a V60, so it is less dependent on you stretching out the pour rate. If I had bought this brewer first, I wouldn’t have bothered with V60s.
Coarser grind, 92-94 on Niche 9% passing through 400 Kruve, again 13.8g coffee:
#3: Pour direct with gooseneck, V60 01, 20g every 20s in spirals, each pour taking 10s, last pour either 10g or 20g to reach 210g total, or 220g total depending on silt detected & extraction level (if silty at 220g total, pour 10g, if erring under pour 20g last pour). Again, if standing liquid at the start of a pour, pour in the centre.
#4: V60 02 with gooseneck & Drip Assist, 30g poured every 30s to 210g total, each pour taking 15s. First 3 in the centre, last 4 in the ring.
For larger brews at the the previous grind setting, V60 02,18g;270g, pouring 33g every 30s as per this video:
