I think it looks very interesting, although I’m happy with my setup and don’t plan on adding another machine. If I was looking for another machine though I think this would be the one, although given how close they are to release I’d wait for some reviews.
I quite like the design, it reflects what it is and gives you options to find what suits you. Want a manual pressure gauge that can be had, want a Bluetooth one, no problem, don’t care about the direct lever and would rather rely on just the spring pressure, no problem too.
Ross, the maker of this, also seems very transparent in his approach. Where possible he’s tried to use off the shelf parts to make it easy to maintain. The only key thing I’m aware of that is the portafilter, which has thinner lugs. The reason for this is that otherwise he would have needed to use a thicker top plate, which would have pushed the price up.
