I thought I did, but their reputation is no longer quite as reputable in my mind as it was last Saturday when I discovered their error (I’m going to assume it was an honest mistake until they have had a chance to change their website, at which point I will be aware of whether it was a mistake or intentionally misleading).
Bombora is an established supplier to the retail coffee trade in Australian. But their website makes no mention at all that the burrs were not OEM or that they are simply “Mazzer compatible” Italmill burrs.
It seems that genuine Mazzer 83mm conical burrs can’t be sourced in Australia so I have ordreded from the USA. while I sort the issued out with Bombora.
I noticed that another Australian suppler, Dipacci, are super clear in the headline that their burrs are "Aftermarket’, not buried in the fine print somewhere. Other than them, the practice of either passing off aftermarket burrs as being genuine Mazzer or hiding the truth in a FAQ section is horriyfingly widespread.
