whinmoor85 Conical burr alignment - is this something to be concerned about? I have a Niche and I’m happy with it but I see a lot of talk about the alignment of flat burr grinders on YouTube and forums etc. Wondering if the same applied to conicals? 🤨
DavecUK whinmoor85 The other issue is how would you align them? Making the unit accurately is the best you can really do.
tompoland I whinmoor85 it’s a great questions and one I was looking at over the weekend when I was about to fit new conical burrs. Found this on YouTube which was helpful for me because my grinder is of similar construction but it may not be so helpful if you have a Niche sorry.
Cuprajake Some conicals yes, but not so much the niche due to how it’s built the spinning burr is centred through a bearing plate
whinmoor85 DavecUK No idea how I would align them, just throwing the question out there. Seems like a non-issue anyway. If I were to upgrade to a flat burr grinder, I’d prefer a factory aligned product rather than shimming with tin foil.
Cuprajake You’re in the realms of a £1000+ grinder then for sure. Even the Weber conicals sometimes need rubber mallet adjustment 😱
whinmoor85 Cuprajake True! Option-O P64 is around £1,300 with SSP Unimodal and that doesn’t include shipping and taxes
