Cuprajake desert funnel en route to give my shots a creamier mouthfeel😉 the seller threw in a fork also, so I’ll assemble the lot when the funnel comes.I’ve just dosed straight into pf so far and it’s fine. Just need to speed up finding a new house with coffee area now !!

Well done mate although admittedly compared to the Niche, it kind of towers a bit. Worth it though imho.

With my 1.7kg hopper on, it’s just silly in a domestic setting, lol lol!

Gonna hold off for a bit on this. There were Titaniums in it, and the seller put ‘newer’ titaniums in and gave me the old ones to compare. The ‘newer’ ones in there seem pretty sharp so I’ll wait a while, the grind seems pretty good to me atm

Not sure if you saw my thread where I refreshed my Super Jolly but if you’re using a dosing cup, a cheap salt/pepper mill tray from Amazon sawn in half and sanded works well in place of the fork. I think mine was £4.

Ernie1 your setup inspired me mate, I already bought myself a wood slab and I’m gonna build a lid and a cup tray as soon as I get the chance, hopefully it will turn out nice.

Ernie1 hi, I did indeed follow it, albeit from afar as I wasn’t in spenditis mode at that stage! I’ve revisited since of course. Great idea for the wooden cup holder, I will probably pursue at a later stage! Mine’s a grocery model so no doser, so, it’s switch to 1 for power on, and then a flick for on and flick again for off. I’m happy enough with that, is the general consensus that the switch is durable enough for that for a long time used this way?

Cuprajake Your set up and Ernie1 set up look great, I think once it’s a nice open area they look great together. That’s why I look forward to moving where I have more space, it’s a bit crowded under the cabinets

JahLaza Exactly the same as mine, reckon if it’s robust enough for a cafe, it should be kind of ok (lol) for home use…just my opinion but I’d bet on it and I’m no gambler

Well, as promised got home to a couple of things, Mara has been driving wife crazy….seems my benchtops filters not up to scratch so a descale was needed. And after that, today I’m stocking up on distilled water for the Dr R Pavlis recipe.

My humble single dosing conversion. A paper cup pushes up snugly into the bottom of the funnel and holds the grinds.

I tried a rubber bellows but it didn’t make any difference. I brush the burrs and give the motor a spin, then brush out the funnel. That works nicely.

I’ve been thinking of an upgrade, but I’ll probably just change the burrs. I just use pour over V60 and while the cup has good aftertaste and body on medium and darker roasts, there’s not much flavour variety. It’s all very blended. But nevertheless pleasant, full and sweet. Just a one trick pony.
