Don’t think it’s a secret that my cupping thread featured an order from Django which went pear shaped. Credit to Django for dealing with my problem really well. As Ste says above - getting to grips with a new roaster even if its from the same stable as your previous one can pose challenges.

The 30% offer is fantastic - I’ve whacked in a big order and look forward to trying them.

Has anyone had their weekend order fulfilled yet as they were meant to be roasted yesterday? I’ve got to admit, it feels like I’m not having much luck with my first two orders. Although I had the mbata last time, I found the magic recipe and that was really delicious. I wish I’d ordered a Kg this time instead of taking a chance on the Brazil. I’d somehow accidentally dialled out the mbata at the time, and only dialled it back in after my order! But I’m a fan of Brazil coffees so fingers crossed.

rivergo1d I placed an order with Django on Saturday. It was delivered today with a roast date of 11th July. I will be repacking the kg bags into smaller vacuum packs at the weekend giving the beans a few days to rest

I spoke with Ste at Django and understand they’re struggling with the recent orders. I’d expect unfulfilled orders will ship tomorrow, thus two days later than expected. For the price, it’s hard to complain though 😉

Understand the discount is over. But I read lots of good feedbacks on Santa Ana. Where can I find it on their website? Under coffee section, there are only Uganda mbata, decaf Mexico, and Burundi businde only.

Knluk I’ve got a bag of Businde resting, sounds delicious and if they are back to their old roasting form it’ll be great.

I’ll feed back when I try it - but it’ll be resting a week yet.

dutchy101 Roast date? We’re currently on the Kanya from 27 June, which is dark but I’ve got it to a point I like it - my wife is enjoying it more, but in milk, which makes sense.

The Kinsinga I have is now in the freezer, but when I tried that before it was too dark - burnt/ acrid.

dutchy101 It’s a lot lighter than the bag we had in May. It was darker than expected and the coffee was ok, which I found disappointing. I am glad this looks as it should be; I hope it tasted as it should. :-)

I received my kg of Burundi today. Looks a bit darker than what I’d usually buy but this is for milk drinks for my gf. Roast date was the 11th. I’ve ground a dose about an hour ago, will leave a little bit longer to de-gas and then will cup it.

Update from the cupping is similar to the Chelbesa in that there is definitely fruit notes there but a bit too roasty for my liking. Maybe tasting more like red apple/grape to me more than raspberry and blueberry but there is a tartness, could be berry vibes. Will see how I get on with it when it’s properly rested but this level of roast is for milk drinks only for me!

They’re not showing stock of what I ordered, so I’m not sure what I’ll end up with. I really liked their mbata, I wish I’d ordered another kg.

Think we all have roasters we just can’t get on with.

Cuprajake Of all the roasters we have tried so far including the bag I opened today, I only find only Extract Coffee and North Star roasts are always consistent with their descriptions. The Blackcat is mostly ok. The rests are always on the darker side and/or not evenly roasted.

I have a few being rested. Hope they don’t disappoint me.
