dfk41 mikegm forget all that you know! Tighten your grind, do not start counting until the first few drips are in the cup. i have always used a lever for years but it is the same principle with a pump machine
dfk41 You know, I am now doubting my memory and think this bean is actually Java Jampit. I drank a lot of both at different times over the years but remember the gloupy effect as being associated more with JJ
mikegm Ratio 1:2 I’m sure I am using a suitable grind. Any finer and it takes over 10seconds for first drips. Then approx 36-38gm out in as near 30 seconds. A couple of mm of crema, but never that gloopy thick extraction.
Doram This is an old photo from 2009. I don’t even know why I like it: the focus isn’t completely right, there is no latte art, the texture is probably wrong as I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t even take the picture. I just put the camera in my wife’s hands and asked her to take a closeup shot of the milk pour. But for some reason I like the photo and I think it makes the coffee look lush.
tompoland Doram love this pic. It looks like a painting. It has blended colours, texture, and amazing contours. Great teamwork Mr and Mrs Doram.
tompoland Dogs in the backyard. Reminds me of things I love which includes our home, the dogs and family (some of whom can also be mongrels from time to time 🐶). And amazingly, not an espresso machine in sight.
Amberale dfk41 I don’t know if I prefer the shoes or the tiles on the ?laundry/bathroom wall. I am imagining 60s colours for the tiles. :)
Norvin Do you want some MMMmmmilk in that coffee? Nosey neighbours inspect our newly built conservatory and critique a younger Mrs Norvin’s coffee.
Norvin dfk41 Along the same lines; “We must be destined for the clergy. I overheard Norvin say that the pizza oven’s not for us, when we grow up we’ll become friars”.
LMSC DavecUK Ready for wood fired lamb roast…mmm Aww. Poor them! I was thinking exactly the same. They are already in the queue! Thought it’s so mean to think like that.
