HELP (Dave and all)! New Lelit Elizabeth Runs Consantly When I Turn On!

Hi All (especially DaveC if you are around)

Dave, thanks for the excellent Lelit Elizabeth Quick Reference Guide. Well done!

I implemented the suggested advanced settings and perhaps I did something wrong. When I turn on the machine, the pump and water now runs constantly. I see the Lelit logo on the display, but it does not even go to OK or show any temps. And none of the buttons on the left light up.

I tried to reset by turning on the machine and holding minus at the same time, but this does not solve the problem. I then again went into the advanced program and re-entered your advanced settings. This did not correct the issue.

Any sense of what I did wrong? This problem only emerged when I changed the advanced settings.

Should I do a complete reset to factory settings, for the entire machine? If so, how? If I could just get back to where I was before.

Any other ideas?

I’d be most grateful for your help today, as the vendor that sold me the machine (just last week) is closed today. Moreover I would be surprised if this was a mechanical issue, firmware or software flaw, as this problem only emerged when I changed the advanced settings. We can converse through this board. Or we can FaceTime or Zoom or whatever, if you are willing to do so. I do not wish to impose at all. Any help with this will be gratefully received.

All good! Saw a home-barista post that when you reset, the machine empties ALL the boilers.

I had initially forced a reset (by accident) by not holding both the power on button And BOTH the + and - keys. Holding the minus key only forced the reset, and then the machine emptied the boilers.

Never doubted you Dave! Just my ignorance.

JHCCoffee It’s Gicars little joke, that I would love manufacturers to get together and force them to change it

I personally think all Gicar displays+boards (and almost all of them are), should go into advanced settings by switch on with RH button pressed .

A factory reset shout be switch on with both buttons pressed.

I would like to kick the bastard in Gicar who programmed the firmware to work the opposite way round….. Welcome to the forum.

Nope.

The machine simply dumps approx. 500ml of water from the brew boiler only.

MediumRoastSteam I’ll second this. The programming assumes an empty brew boiler as a possibility on a factory reset. So it runs the pump and opens the brew circuit to make sure it’s full…hence water coming from the group.

I know this as a fact.
