danielpugh I’d return it, attach a document detailing ALL the problems including the ones with the group, and what’s been done so far.. Be thorough as this gives them the best chance to work through the machine, fully test it and if necessary investigate why that top o ring and of course pressure seal is letting by. If the pressure seal simply isn’t sealing well, of course the 10 bar will push water past the top group O ring, which is only really meant to keep water remnants under control…It shouldn’t see much water.
The shipping will cost them a fair bit of money, customs are also a pain in the arse, as I found out when returning a gfx card to be fixed. So unless the paperwork is done right both sides, they want to charge VAT and handling both ways. They will probably end up making 0 money on your machine….but at the end of the day, they want you to have a working machine, not one that’s had problems almost from the start. I would not like to see anyone have the problem below when dealing with machines that are remotely “supported, parts only warranty units”.
I helped a Londinium owner (4 +months ago), who is now an Evo owner fix his Londinium R (which was not under warranty), the support he received was appalling. Pretty much zero, just got referenced to the Londinium forum which had old fault finding diagnostics that involved the espresso machine repair people purchasing a new pump for £320+ even though I said it wasn’t the fault. When that didn’t solve it there was no more help forthcoming…apart from a lowball offer on his not working machine, plus fully working old pump and new pump. It then could have been the Autofill box, which he tried to order from the Londinium website, but the part was obsolete, Fracino no longer held stock, a much larger alternative was suggested, which may well not have fitted. I finally gave the guy some diagnostics to try which showed it up to be a fault with the autofill solenoid, The solenoid tested correctly when removed, but only after the machine was hot and had been on a little while, it stopped working.
He sold the Londinium as soon as possible and purchased an Evo……I don’t believe ACS ever want you to have an experience like that.
