If you are going to do it in situ
You
MUST
Ensure you 100% hold the nut at the back and it must not move AT ALL
Cant stress this enough
Otherwise the pipework at the back of the valve will be damaged.
Best if it is warm at the time
And as per Daves warning ref permanent threadlocker, if the body of the valve does not move with reasonable torque applied, STOP and remove the valve completely from the machine or you can carry on and risk cosmetic damage to the valve chrome .
All depends how much threadlocker has been applied.
