I think there is some misunderstanding here.
No matter what I do, I cannot get mine to look that bad.

This is the reality of the standard sleeve with a circlip fitted.
No drilling, no drill press, no drill bits, nothing flying .standard stainless circlip fitted onto standard shower screen.
And as for the safety sleeve, the safety sleeve as standard, as supplied should also have a good shower pattern. And it does not take a genius to work out, The new shower screen will not fit the safety sleeve before anyone rushes out to order it.
It comes over that that picture was made to look worse than real to actually show how good the new design is And with the amount of people saying wow that’s good, I’m going to order one well….. it is what it is. They get what they buy. They fit it and no doubt will be happy with it. I’m assuming they’re not sold on sale or return. I can’t get around to ordering one because I am struggling to see how it can affect the taste in the cup. It really does not matter to me. I have nothing to gain or lose.
And then on to this talk about pi pressure changing the pattern that is seen in the picture. PI pressure has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what is seen through the shower screen without a portafilter attached. It would be interesting if someone could explain why they think it does and what they think PI pressure setting does. The reality is the pump is either running or not running when it is in a free-flow situation like this..
