chCoffee It looks as if the sensor is pushed down too far, the curve / bend appears to be distorting the

seal. Lift the sensor slightly before tightening the nut.

Well what was not a huge deal yesterday has ruined all my shots today! The pump pressure doesn’t seem to be reading when the pump activates or maybe the pump is failing? I’ll upload a video shortly

Pressure goes to zero and stays there when I pull the lever. Then it triggers the pump but since it pulses it’s like it gets a signal to dump since it’s below my set pressure.

Check what your pre to brew is.

If its not there, upgrade the firmware

If it is, its currently probably set around 4 to 5 bars

Changing it to manual mode, the pump just slowly pulses but it takes quite a while to pump up to preinfusion pressure. Definitely something going on.

Best to email maria, telling her what your current firmware is. Look at left hand screen just after powering on….

I’m being vague as i don’t know the setup of the server and if its ready for random requests.

Up to a certain firmware version, the tech at ACS needs to see the machine log in and send specific files to update to a version that has auto update capability. I’m unaware above what version has auto update capability so not worth going over the procedure again here.

Ok you’re right. What’s happening is the pump is out of control and it just spikes to 5bar or even 6 bar and triggers it to move to the next step.

there is no consistency with the pump the past 3 days. Sometimes it hits the correct preinfusion, often times not. It will go to 2-3-4 and then when I pull the lever down it will do the spike, but not always.

There could be a problem with the one way valve not seating properly and depending on the firmware, holding down the middle button for a while (If I remember correctly) should take you to a screen where you can check the max pressure for the machine to change from preinfusion to brewing. If that’s too low, you can have a situation where the machine thinks it’s hit the brewing phase, then when the pressure drops and the vent solenoid opens.

Set the changeover pressure to 9 bar.

Something is definitely up with the pump. Set it to manual mode and during preinfusion it hit 10bar somehow. Will try to post another video soon.

The pump does not know what mode the machine is in. It just pumps on demand . The mode only sets the method you will use to end the shot or trigger the dump solenoid. The so called pre infusion pressure sets the pressure at which the pump will turn off. Its just a dumb pump 😚😁

Have you requested information to update the firmware.

Is your issue the fact that it does not hit exactly 2.000 bars for the pre-infusion. Don’t forget by popular demand the V2 had a monster of a rotary pump Fitted as some people thought it necessary and finesse is not the strong point of a monster rotary pump 😁😘

The exact pressure of the pre-infusion does not matter a flying monkey to anyone (yet another possibly unpopular but true comment) .

I love the commentary in the background , the uh-oh, and wondered why it did not continue to say hey, What are you doing, just get on with it!!!

So, please explain in more detail what the issue is and sorry if you have and i missed it, ive not reread the last few days comments just now.

Haha that would be my child with the commentary.

There is no longer any consistency. The pump doesn’t just turn on and then off, sometimes it pulses for 5-10 seconds before it gets to preinfusion pressure, and then it’s just a random number. I literally cannot use it in auto mode because the pump will go over 5 bar preinfusion and automatically start the 2nd part of the shot and then just dump before I even let the lever up.

I’ll send more videos when I can.

what happens if you take the push handle on top out the equation and dont use it?

do you have the stock no safety sleeve to fit?

imo you shouldnt need the handle up top to precharge it, something changed as the evo 1 never needed it

Agree and you do not need .

My lever is set to turn the pump on when the main lever is Vertical so its filling for the full travel. I e. Less air in the cylinder

BUT

As you summarise it makes about 0.1 bar difference to the initial pressure seen. Never measured how many ml difference it makes. Another practice for davids bollkocks drawer 😁😁
