Better designs work better, worse designs work worse, cost is a different thing.
People buy stuff sometimes based on functionality, sometimes on cost, sometimes because it’s new and they are an early adopter (fallen for that more than once).
To know how something works, it needs to be in the field a while.
You can always buy a Mazzer Kony rather than a Niche, if you are sure of your design vs cost theory. :-)
