@BlackCatCoffee Indian Araku
First, I was surprised as it looked darker than expected. There no roast indications. But, it is a medium dark for me.
Second, it is a good coffee; It is creamy, rich, smooth and sweet. The wine aroma and taste linger throughout even after the cup is gone. There was an enjoyable tartness to the cup, which I can liken to their candied peel (think lemon or orange), as we finish drinking. The fruit notes were subtle and mellowed as the wine was dominating.
Third, It’s cuts well with milk as a flat white. It will be too milky for lattes, unless it is a triple shot.
The shot parameters on the Evo are:
18.1g, 33.3g (as I had cut it just a shade lower than 8 bars), 22s shot time. The temp were 89C/95C for the group/brew boiler. It’s a tad faster.
I need to drop the dosage a bit, perhaps by 0.5g as the basket was on the fuller side before tamping. I may try putting up the temp by 1C and tighten the grind a little.
Get a small bag and try, if you like medium dark. :-)
