Looks like an interesting implementation but, personally, a little too pricey on the pods and quite a bit too pricey on the machine. Besides, I have quite enough coffee brewing options. One, espresso machine, two is V60, three is Clever, and four, though I hesitate to admit it round here, Nespresso Vertuo. Though, before I get lynched, I did switch from buying alunimium pods (months ago) to refillable ones fed from the Niche Zero. So oh yeah, five is Niche.
So if I want espresso-based - sorted. If I want filter, I have a bit of faffing, and a choice, but sorted. If I want quick, fast and auto, the Vertuo with a self-lad pod, so sorted there, too. Spending $800 (and probably, £800 therefore) on another machine? Nope. Partly ’cos I’m short on counter space, by the time we add the Kenwood Chef, the Vitamix, the Magimix XL, all the existing coffee gear, etc. And the other part is, I’d really rather like to avoid the enormous legal bill attached to the divorce that would rapidly follow me buying one of these. Sorry, cBloom, you missed the boat with me. A couple of years ago, may, but now? Not a prayer.
It does look interesting, based on James Hoffmann’s comments. But too little, too expensive and too late, for me.
